Bio

Katie Fitz began writing music in 2010. Since then, she has gradually spun a collection of songs that, line by line and word by word, tell the story of a joyfully restless soul on the move. From California to the Pacific Northwest, then to rural Ukraine and back again, songwriting has become a familiar traveling companion and a home away from home.

Most often found strumming a guitar, but switching on occasion to banjo, ukulele, tambourine, shaker egg, and even the occasional rogue washboard, Katie has never met an instrument she didn’t like. Her songwriting style centers heartfelt lyrics, carefully crafted arrangements, and intertwining vocal harmonies. Listen in and you might hear a hint of early influences such as Mary McCaslin and Emmylou Harris. Other favorites & musical role models include: I’m With Her, Brandi Carlile, the Highwomen, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell.

These days, Katie is beyond grateful to get to perform in and around the Pacific Northwest with long-time friend and collaborator Arbielle, and as a trio with The Wild Lilacs. Her debut album, A Light in the Window, is out in autumn 2026.
